Hahaha… I am BACK at Facebooking… inspired by my childhood best buddy, AL who has just reactivated her Facebook after “missing” for more than a year… Great way to stay connected!! I need to “control” myself.. no addicting, no kay-poing.. hahaha… building my millions, yay!!

TheStar Soo Ewe Jin’s Monday Starter article is so timely, at least for me, ha! He wrote this:

“I am thankful that the postman does not just deliver me bills but I still get the occasional hand-written letters and cards from near and far that light up my life.

And I can only imagine how lives are lit up when we ourselves take the initiative to send out such letters.”

Ya, most poeple has been using everything online, online birthday wishes and cards, online messages, that we hardly call or write letters to friends. Recently, I told hubby that he needs to be at home on a night this month so that I can go out and have a reunion with my school mates, who are coming from Sarawak. And the first response from him was, “I thought you all are having “reunion” in Facebook every day?” hahaha… Oh boy..

Co-incidentally, first thing in the morning this morning, I received a sweet phone call from my close buddy. What touched me was that she called to say that she was in the market, met my parents there, talked to my dad and told me how great both my parents look! And she added that I would be definitely looking as good as them in my golden years, hahaha. It was a very personal-touched call, love you Betty! And as we spoke, she said she missed me and hoped to see me in Sibu, our hometown soon!

A simple gesture, but it makes such a huge impact in our daily life. After Betty’s call, an ex-colleague, whom normally keep in touch through emails called me! She told me that our ex-colleague is back from Canada for summer holiday and she is organizing a reunion dinner! I immediately call that colleague and we did tons of catching up on the phone! It was good talking to you, Tee.

It is indeed a day full of personal touches and surprises. A university friend, who I haven’t seen for the last 12 years gave me a surprise call! He is in town on a business trip and wants to meet up, just to catch up. What a lovely gesture! My life is totally lit up today, haha! It really feels good when you know that you are remembered by someone whom you haven’t met for so long….. what a great day full of personal touches…..

The saying goes, TV is a neccessity, not a luxury…  but somehow TV has been quite a “nuisance” to me. I used to get addicted to those soap operas shown on TV. So crazy that I just can’t wait to know the ending of the story. I was really nuts… so nutty that I watched almost all dramas on TV, the Japanese, Mandarin, Hokkien, Cantonese, Malay and of course the English, I guess that’s where TV stations make tons of money, from people like me, haha… that was 10 years ago…

Since then, I feel that watching TV is a waste of time. It does not earned the nickname “idiot box” for nothing.. It kills family quality time, it makes people lazy and it is unhealthy! I have known of kids spending too much time in front of the tv that they become obese.. serious! They would chew those tit-bits as they watch tv. I have also known a child who would watch her favorite cartoon and no one but her can hold the remote control. I have seen siblings fighting over the channels and even adults do that too!! It is also a norm that most parents or guardians tend to use TV as baby-sitter!!

I would be lying through my teeth if I say that my kids do not watch TV. Yes, they do…for an hour a day, only on educational channels such as TVIQ and Siao Tai Yang.. That’s where they pick up their English and Mandarin respectively. And I only turned to TV recently because of the World Cup fever, lol!~!

But… but.. 2 days ago… my Astro died on me… the service man came and diagnosed the concealed wiring as the cause… and we have to re-do the wiring which will not only look ugly but very tough to re-do because my built-in cabinet  is getting in the way. I am now seriously contemplating to unsubscribe Astro….. Can we survive without Astro?…. I believe we can!! or yes… needless to say… I have to miss the World Cup Final between Spain and Holland… Regardless who wins, a new world champion will be created!!

Update : Viva Espana!! Viva Forever…

By nature, I am a stubborn, hard-headed person…….. During my corporate days, I had always felt that whatever management decision I made was always RIGHT, nobody can question about it! A “dictator” manager huh, I must say… Yes, I did make many RIGHT decisions, although at times, when things went a bit wrong and did not happen the way I planned, haha, then I would sweep it under the table.. haha.. woosh… those were the days….. bad, bad Manager I was… lol!!!

Fast forward, I am now more careful whenever I need to make decision, be it related to family, friends, business etc. Before I make any decision, I would think 3, think 4, think 5, then I decide, with the hope that it is a RIGHT decision, a decision made with no regrets and then move on!

3 days ago I made a decision. A very tough decision and today, I feel it was a wrong decision. Tomorrow, I am going to put up a very brave front, call up the person and say “I am SORRY”……

Woo… have been away from my blog for so long… I have been very active in Facebook till neglected my lovely blog… haha… guess my readers have either migrated to my FB or disappeared from my blog..

I am taking a break from Facebook for an indefinite period of time, to do some serious reflection. Facebook provides an excellent place for me to share my daily buzz with friends and for them to share with me unconditionally… I realise that I am beginning to get “addicted” to FB and have become too “kay po” hahaha.. probably that’s my nature, too “kay po” and “over friendly” virtually… ha!

Anyway, it’s good to take a break, to concentrate on making my millions.. I miss FB, I miss those buddies who never fail to cheer me up when I feel down. Today, I am experiencing my first day FB withdrawal syndromes, hahaha… that’s why I turn to my blog to rant, rant and RANT!!! lol!!!

For now, it would be my “private” blog, instead of FB… somehow, my gut feeling is telling me that I will GO back to FB very, very soon…hahaha… we shall see!
